Hunter × Hunter: Innovativeness of "Nen"/ anime - manga

"Hunter × Hunter", is so innovative manga written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi.

This is one of a masterpiece of manga and anime.

-Main story-

The story begins with a boy named Gon Freaks, who decides to become a hunter in order to find his father who is a world-famous hunter. Hunter is a licensed profession for people specialising in fantastic pursuits, including, but not limited to, finding rare or unidentified species, treasure hunting, surveying unexplored areas and hunting outlaws.

As it is mentioned before, Hunter × Hunter is sooooo innovative manga.

The reason is based on "Nen (念)".

The system of Nen is not only a game changer system, but also a universal concept to make manga more enjoyable.

This idea was created by the author of Hunter × Hunter: Yoshihiro Togashi.

Japanese people call him "Togashi sensei (とがし せんせい).

*sensei means teacher usually, but it can be also used to describe the author of manga to show respect in Japanese.

★First, the concept of Nen (念) made it possible to verbalise the special move of shonen manga.

★Second, the system of Nen innovated the 2 limitations rule.

"The stricter the limitation, the more their ability is strengthened".

Through this principle, Nen user can increase the overall power of an individual skills by stating a self-imposed restriction that forces even more conditions on it.

These restrictions are called "Limitations" (制約, Seiyaku, meaning "Rule"), and the act of swearing to respect them "Vows" (誓約, Seiyaku, meaning "Contracts"). Moreover, this idea: risk enhances ability, is so epoch-making that it is used even in the recent manga: Jujutsu Kaisen.

The reason why Hunter × Hunter is such an amazing manga is that Togashi-sensei probably uses Nen to create his manga. Moreover, he also fully utilises the constraint-rule of slowing down the frequency of updates to improve the quality of the manga.
